Born 1966.04.28 in Vilnius, Lithuania. 1984-1989 studied in Vilnius State Conservatorium film directing. 1989 studied in Jonas Mekas Film Anthology Archive New York.
His films got numerous international film awards. Among them Audience award in Nyon, Grand Prix in Split, prizes in Bornholm, Florence, Gyor, Neu Brandenburg, Oberhausen, Bilbao and San Francisco.
In 1992 Audrius Stonys documentary film “Earth of the Blind” was recognised by European Film Academy as the Best European Documentary Film of the Year and received Felix Award.
2004-2005 Documentary teacher in European Film College, Denmark.
Lectures and master classes in Kolkata, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Tokyo, Berkeley, Stanford, Moscow, Belgrade, Barcelona, San Francisco, Carpi Modena, Paris.

Karolina Lidin

Karolina Lidin is a documentary consultant with 25+ years of experience on the international documentary scene, primarily engaged at Nordisk Film & TV Fond as Documentary Advisor and at Sheffield Doc/Fest as Executive Producer, Marketplace & Talent. In addition, Karolina Lidin is continuously involved in mentoring/training schemes, developing projects with international potential, lately with DocsPort Incheon, Docs by the Sea, DocEdge Kolkata and Dhaka DocLab. Karolina has previous experience as producer, film commissioner, distributor and as CEO of Nordisk Panorama and Nordisk Forum. Karolina’s activities also include moderating the IDFA FORUM and numerous other film festival and market events – in addition to festival jury duty, panel & selection committee participation, and tutoring worldwide.

Emma Davie

Filmmaker, UK

Emma is a filmmaker and tutor. She has made a wide variety of documentaries and most recently co-directed a feature documentaryBecoming Animal with Swiss Canadian Peter Mettler. It was nominated for best feature at CPH Dox, Documenta Madrid, Docs Against Gravity and is playing at IDFA, RIDM, Jihlava and many other festivals. Her previous documentary, I Am Breathing ( co-directed with Morag MacKinnon ) won Scottish BAFTA for Best Director and played in over 50 countries.
She teaches at Edinburgh College of Art where she runs the post graduate course in documentary directing. She advises on many films internationally and used to programme documentaries for the Edinburgh International Film Festival and was on the board of EDN. Her background is in performance theatre. She ran a company called Clanjamfrie, which specialized in immersive large-scale shows incorporating performance and film, often in unusual spaces. Emma studied English literature at Oxford University, and theatre in Paris.

Paul has 40 years of experience in the world of audiovisual production as unit manager, production manager and producer. During the larger part of his career he has combined production and teaching/ tutoring.

He worked in feature film production until 1987, when he founded his own production unit: Periscope Productions. The company produced commercials, short feature films and prize-winning documentaries.

In 2005 Paul Pauwels left Periscope Productions NV to become programme manager at the Flemish Public Broadcaster VRT/CANVAS. There he was in charge of the science and history department, and responsible for the relations with the independent producers and directors.

Between 2007 and 2011 he was the creator and later the director of the “European television and media management academy” in Strasbourg, France.

He was hired as the Managing Director at CONGOO bvba in March 2012 and took over the company six months later.

From May 2013 until April 2019 Paul Pauwels was the managing director of the European Documentary Network (EDN).

In April 2019 he relaunched Congoo bvba, mainly for activities that concern tutoring, coaching and moderating.

During his active time as a producer, Paul Pauwels was a respected expert on matters of European documentary co-production. He shared his knowledge acting as a tutor and an expert for several organisations. Amongst them: Documentary Campus (Germany), Greenhouse (Israel), CoPro (Israel), Balkan documentary Center (Bulgaria), International Documentary Institute (Czech Republic), DocEdge (India) and Documentary in Europe (Italy), DocLab Poland, Beldocs (Serbia)…

Paul has been lecturing and managing workshops on documentary development and production in Belarus, Belgium, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain,Tunisia, Turkey and the U.K.

He is teaching at the LUCA School of Arts in Genk, Belgium and is a guest lecturer at the RITCS film school in Brussels, Belgium.

Between 1997 and 1999 working as a NHK correspondent to Hong Kong Office then since 1999 working as documentary producer of NHK unique satellite channel cultivating High Definition Documentaries as like the travelogue “World Strollers” (2005-07) and “Cats!” (2012-14), also as International co-production “Why Democracy” (2007) “Indian Short film series” (2007&08) “Queen and I” (2008), and “The KERIYA”(2016) with NEO and BTV. He commissioned many productions, from which various films got screened at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, like “Chronicle of Amnesiac” (2007) by Anirban Datta, India and “Char… The No-Man’s Island” (2012) by Sourav Sarangi, “Spiral stairs” by Ji Tang (2009) from China and “Japan; Love & Hate” by Sean McAlister (2009) from U.K won awards at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. Now work for INSIDE LENS on NHK World with Sumon Delwar from Bangladesh.
